I've been selling kitchen gadgets for almost 30 years, but this one has me stumped. I think that it could be a chocolate shaver, or maybe for truffles. Any ideas???

Finally found a Great Source
I actually lost my source for these little treasures. With all of the bread dipping still going on-these are a must, but have been very difficult to find. This one is sturdy and will relly do the trick, plus it's very pretty. The Grape Cruet oil & vinegar decanter is reminiscent of the vineyard harvest. Unique gift idea. (Redditch) - Having tried many devices including a whetting stone I did not hold out a lot of hope for this one. You do need a very smooth surface to stick in on but it does exactly what it says. The blades are now razor sharp. The only one it has had a problem with so far is a de-boning knife which is very recessed at the blade hilt - it's not possible to sharpen the first inch of it. All the standard cooks knives are like new again - the Sabatiers can split hairs.
